Dr. Andy David, the Israeli Consul General based in San Francisco joined the show to talk about Middle East issues. On why Palestine has not declared statehood, David said that they live in a narrative of victimhood. He also believes peace will hold up with Egypt and their new leadership, going with actions and not words. David is still optimistic about peace in the Middle East, despite the culture of hating Israel. "If you want to be a realist, you must be a dreamer." He also compared the two, that they hate Israel more than they love themselves. As to Iran, he does not believe them when they claim they are making nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. He says Israel will not allow them to go past the point of no return. |
