The sequester happened, yet where is the fallout? I was expecting the freeways to be closed, no parks, no nothing. Yet, I was able to drive and stop and smell the roses. It's the battle to control the media message.

Are the 65 million people who voted for Obama condone what the president and his party are doing, with the continual rise in taxes?

My son got an education the other day. He is a student, being taught a liberal ideology at school. He wanted to know what I meant when I told him his generation is going to pay for this.

So, I showed him my paycheck from a recent episode of "Hart of Dixie" I filmed. He saw the line I earned total, and then all that was taken out, about 50%. I have to work until May for the government. Most have to work longer. Then he

The Republicans have taken a beating, especially in California. It's a combination of not recruiting enough minorities, or not highlighting the ones already in the party (like my co-hort Randall).

Marcelino Valdez (e-mail), fresh off his election to regional vice chair of Central California to the state GOP joined the show. He says he feels welcome in the party, but they need to take their message to the community. They may not realize what GOP values are. He goes to out to the Hispanic community and asks, why are you a Democrat? Some of the response is they feel they are the party of the poor. He also hears a lot of misinformation.

The Democrats have framed the Republicans in a masterful way as the party of the old, white and rich. Marcileno is none of the above.

A listener called in saying part of that misconception is something that is passed down from parents to children. He also warns that some of the language used in the immigration debate could be turning off the possible Hispanic vote.

I think Republican law makers and hopefuls should learn Spanish to help reach out. It shouldn't be mandatory, and I'm not saying America should be anything but an English-speaking nation, but it's the language of our neighbor.

This is ridiculous. A nurse at a Bakersfield independent living facility refuses to provide life-saving CPR because it is against "company policy."

The Fresno Coin Gallery is holding their fourth annual "gold drive" to help raise funds for local schools. They are donating a portion of their sales to Valley education in a belief of giving back. Stephanie Foster-Thomas from the store joined Alan to talk about the program. Customers can choose which area to donate, such as arts, academics, athletics and agriculture.
