Leticia Perez joined the show in studio to discuss her run for the open state senate district 16 seat. She is calls herself a "modern democrat," who has some conservative views.

[NOTE: we invited Andy Vidak numerous times to come on, and received numerous excuses why he couldn't come in. More candidates for the 16th district seat will be in next week.]

Being a Kern County supervisor, she supports drilling and fracking and says she will buck the democratic trend in Sacramento, as well as keeping Prop 13 (about property tax rates) in check.

Perez has been a big supporter of hiking the minimum wage to $9.25 (in 50 cent increments a year). She says the costs for education has gone up and people are still earning the same wage they made five years ago.  My retort: if you haven't had a raise in five years, maybe you are working in the wrong job.

When asked about immigration, Perez supports comprehensive immigration reform, but does not want to break up families. She believes we need to enforce the borders. She thinks illegal immigrants leave in fear of being busted and deported.

She and her husband own a gun and would not support the numerous Sacramento measure to restrict guns and the second amendment.

This was the first time I met Leticia, and I like her as a person. But, every time I asked her a question, she went into her talking points. I don't want to cut her off when asking a question, but I'm not going allow BS either.

Solo pilot Jack Wiegand is a week into his odyssey around the world and has hit a snag in the Canadian maritimes. He apparently left his passport at home. But, the passport is on its way so he can get going. When he landed, a customs SUV approached him asking for his passport. Jack fumbled around in -25 degree weather when he realized he left it at home.

A jury found Jodi Arias guilty of first-degree murder. I favor the death penalty for her. If she liked rough sex before, wait to she rots in jail for the rest of her life.

Congress heard testimony in the Benghazi hearings on Capitol Hill today. I think this scandal is ten times worse than Watergate. Who made the order to stand down, when more deaths could have been prevented? Heaven help us all if Hillary Clinton is elected president.

Congressman Tom McClintock (R-west Fresno County/Tahoe) joined the show to talk about the Benghazi hearings. He is unhappy about the reaction from former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton and the administration. He believes the administration was informed of the attack and ordered stand downs of military personnel and they are stonewalling the investigation.

McClintock also discussed some of his other legislation to deal with protecting America's credit.

On Monday, I predicted it was only a matter of time before a legislator would introduce limo safety-related legislation. It only took three days.

Is this offensive or free speech? A sheriff deputy employee at the county jail posted some anti-union and anti-Obama images in an employee-bulletin board. The images uses swastikas and photoshop Obama as Benito Mussolini. The union being targeted, SEIU, says this is racist and demand action. Bad taste yes, but isn't this protected speech?

The group that runs the San Francisco Gay Pride parade has some integrity, and now they face a discrimination complaint because they refused to let a traitor be the honorary grand Marshall.

The latest PGA champion Derek Ernst called in. He golfed at Clovis East High, and this past weekend won the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte. He talks about how fortunate he is to competing with the likes of Tiger and Phil. I asked if the fame and newfound fortune will effect him. He says the only difference is the amount of press attention. He talks about his time at Clovis East and his junior membership at Belmont. He also says his girlfriend is hotter than Lindsey Vonn.

The Measure G vote is less than a month away. That is the Fresno garbage measure (yes sends it to a private group, no keeps it with the city). Mayor Ashley Swearengin is a strong proponent of G, but her election handlers won't let her appear on the show. They say its not "part of their strategic mix."

I am all for privatization, but I'm not convinced this is a good financial deal in the long run. And, I've said this all along, the service the city provides is decent.

Dillon Savory from the No on G campaign joined the show. He says that the garbage deal with Mid-Valley is too risky and should be voted down.

A terrible story with an apparent happy ending is happening in Cleveland. Some women who were kidnapped long ago have been rescued. One of the heroes is a man by the name of Charles Ramsey.

Some callers were offended by his use of the term "pretty white girl." Get over it. There is no racial overtones to it. That's just street talk. He just pointed out how unusual it is for a white girl to be in that neighborhood.
