There is a lot of controversy about Beyoncé and whether or not she lip-synced her performance of the national anthem. Beyonce hasn't publicly commented on it all, but she posted a few photos on her Tumbler of what looks like the recording session for her performance. Yesterday, the director of the U.S. Marine Corps Band confirmed that Beyonce used a prerecorded version of "The Star-Spangled Banner," but justified it by explaining that all music is prerecorded in the event of bad weather. He also said that because Beyoncé was busy getting ready for her Super Bowl halftime performance, she didn't have a lot of time to rehearse with the band, and so organizers decided to play the prerecorded track while the band "created a visual simulation of playing." But now, they’re backtracking. A media rep clarified that the band itself didn't play live, but he couldn't say the same for Beyoncé.
